The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Job Summary ?

As a financial analyst on the Distribution & Marketing team within USRM Finance Planning and Analysis, you will be responsible for highlighting financial and operational trends to Distribution and Marketing

executive leadership with a key focus on the Direct and Marketing functions.

 

The Planning  team leads the NB planning process for D&M by partnering with the business and analytics to model NB trends, funnel performance, and long term growth at a function level. The role

also creates MORs and performs leadership facing analyses across D&M  to analyze the operational health of the business and its impacts to our financial results (heavy concentration on Direct & Marketing while also assisting with the full USPL story). Additionally, this role will assist in expense initiatives, channel economics, and have ownership in the channel P&L process. This role/team is a high exposure opportunity to support and influence leadership decision-making through informed

results-based planning, reporting and presentation.

Job Responsibilities 

 

  • Owns the relationship between Finance and Direct and Marketing by collaborating with the business and analytics on all Finance matters
  • Owns the NB planning process for Direct and assists with the overall D&M planning process across all lines of business
  • Drives critical results and trend analysis of financial and operational variances to plan, prior year, and forecast
  • Monitors expense results for Direct and Marketing and builds diagnostic tools to help provide visibility for partners
  • Provide sound financial insights and expertise through developing monthly results slides (utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint) and exhibits (utilizing Microsoft Excel and Power BI) to inform leadership decision-making and enable stakeholder self-service
  • Continually assesses the efficiency and impact of processes, reports, and tools; proactively identifies continuous improvement opportunities for enhancements and collaborates with others to implement them; leads or actively participates in increasingly complex department projects and continuous improvement activities
  • Conducts ad-hoc analyses on emerging trends and effectively summarizes and communicates results to management
  • Cultivates strong relationships with business partners within and outside of Finance to ensure collaboration and provide thoughtful financial analysis informed by operational and business drivers
  • Gains exposure and opportunities to present to Finance leadership

Qualifications

  • Bachelor`s degree required; CPA or Advanced Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive financial analyst and/or finance project/program management
  • Excellent analytical, decision making and problem solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing conditions while achieving results
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills to promote discussion while fostering collaboration within the team and with other areas of the organization
  • Effectively negotiates project direction and communicates to a variety of audiences and levels of the organization to ensure alignment with project goals and schedules
  • Ability to lead meetings and make presentations to increasingly large audiences
  • Attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment, and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously to drive results
