The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Description

Liberty Mutual is seeking an Environmental Underwriter to write our Site Pollution Underwriting Team! 

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with target brokers to generate a strong flow of environmental business opportunities
  • Underwrite Ironshore Environmental’s suite of site pollution and contractor’s pollution liability products including risk evaluation, structuring of policy terms and conditions, and pricing of insurance programs in accordance with company guidelines
  • Provide high level of customer service by timely response to broker requests and deadlines
  • Develop internal relationships with other company divisions to drive cross marketing efforts
  • Maintain well documented underwriting files for all new and renewal accounts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • 4-7 years of environmental underwriting, environmental claims, environmental consulting or environmental insurance brokering experience
  • Possess strong technical, analytical and quantitative skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be positive, self-motivated, possess strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; be well organized and have strong negotiation skills
  • Some travel may be required
