The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Description

The Strategy Consultant is aligned with GRS Strategy & Corporate Development, a team that leads the orchestration of the long-term strategy, competitive intelligence, and M&A processes. The role will be responsible for supporting long-term strategy development and implementation in collaboration with leaders across the business and as such will require broad thinking, a global perspective, and ability to inform and guide strategic discussions. Works closely with various stakeholders and leaders to help identify issues and solve strategic problems.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Contributes towards GRS strategic dialogue, by supporting the development of the long-term business strategy and the execution of strategic projects
  • Manages or supports strategic projects with low-medium complexity and business-wide impact (e.g., strategically important, technical in nature, cross-functional stakeholders)
  • Leads or supports business case development for strategic projects with input from stakeholders. Manages project objectives, scope, timing, and resources
  • Executes on activities/tasks that will deliver the desired project results and day-to-day work and monitoring of progress towards goals
  • Has awareness of and monitors market trends and the competitive landscape to inform strategic project execution and to share insights with the team and broader organization
  • Conducts status update meetings and prepares regular reports to communicate the status of strategic projects to stakeholders within and beyond the project team
  • Interacts with various stakeholders to manage delivery of relevant tasks / activities and gain consensus and buy-in of recommendations
  • Escalates and works to resolve issues that serve as roadblocks and/or place project objectives at risk. Identifies and provides visibility into trade-offs.
  • Supports the development of executive level materials, including updates to the GRS leadership team and the LMG board of directors

Qualifications

  • 4-8 years of relevant experience to include consulting, strategic planning, operations, and project management.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles and concepts.
  • Strong ability to manage all aspects of the project management life cycle and proficient with related tools.
  • Displays strong communication, organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and team building skills.
  • Advanced presentation, influencing, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong business operations knowledge to include understanding the function`s value chain and market conditions strongly preferred.
  • Competencies typically acquired through a Bachelor`s degree in business administration, marketing, operations, finance or other related field. Advanced degree preferred
  • Must be driven and flexible enough to succeed in ambiguous and less structured situations.
