We're looking for a dynamic Branch Executive to build powerful relationships with our key broker partners and champion the Global Risk Solutions (GRS) brand across all business segments—including Middle Market, Specialty, and Majors—throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and Southern Virginia.

 

In this high-impact role, you'll partner with underwriting leadership across every GRS segment to drive a unified "One GRS" approach to the marketplace. Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop a deep understanding of the underwriting appetite and business strategy across all facets of GRS, and confidently articulate and champion them in the marketplace.
  • Cultivate mutually beneficial relationships with strategic brokers throughout your assigned region to drive profitable growth.
  • Lead the development of broker- and client-facing marketing communication plans, including targeted communications and events.
  • Design and spearhead cross-sell initiatives that align with regional growth plans and emerging market opportunities.
  • Prospect and build new broker relationships, uncovering fresh areas of opportunity.
  • Partner with peers, business leaders, and the Regional Distribution Executive to develop strategies that support Direct Written Premium, new business, submission, retention, and profitability —all in alignment with the broader GRS strategy.
  • Champion internal collaboration, fostering an environment centered on shared "One GRS" success.
  • Maintain strong relationships with business leaders and the underwriting organization, keeping communication channels open to ensure alignment and keeping executive management informed of key risks and opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of Agile development methodologies as typically acquired through a Bachelors’ degree in relevant field (business, computer science, etc.) and a minimum of 10 years’ experience in business, engineering, technology and/or consulting. Master’s degree preferred.
  • High level of proven business expertise needed to set clear priorities for product and understand business value impacts.
  • Technical proficiency required to oversee quarterly & sprint planning and to have an informed, independent voice.
  • Strong influencing skills to be seen as the decision maker when interfacing with business, and willingness to dissent with both teams and business.
  • Ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders through strong leadership skills
  • Ability to coach and inspire both direct reports and matrix teams.
  • Comfortable with making decisions with some level of uncertainty in a fast-paced working environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to convey information clearly and concisely

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
